More than 450 ethnic minority students in Nghe An eagerly attended the opening ceremony of the new school year.

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 17, Nghe An Ethnic Boarding Secondary School held the Opening Ceremony of the 2020-2021 school year and the Celebration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20.

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Dao Trong Do - Director of the Department of Continuing Education, General Department of Vocational Education; Ho Thi Chau Loan - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs;Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Secretary of Con Cuong District Party Committee andstudents and teachers of the school.

Nghe An Ethnic Boarding Secondary Schoolis one of 18 specialized schools nationwide for vocational training for ethnic minorities; the school was selected asKey vocational schoolperiod 2016 - 2020 and orientation to 2025 according to Decision No. 1769/QD-LDB & XH dated November 25, 2019 of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The 2019-2020 school year was a difficult year, when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, the school campus was used as a centralized quarantine site for 250 workers returning from Laos, training was interrupted, and recruitment needs of businesses decreased... However, last school year, the whole school trained 25 intermediate classes with 867 students. Of which, students were classified as good and excellent, accounting for 5.6%. Notably, in the last school year, the school organized graduation exams and awarded degrees to 305 students, and at the same time introduced jobs immediately to all 305 newly graduated students. Of which, 146 students were in sewing, 55 students in welding, and 104 students in electricity, who were able to work immediately at businesses inside and outside the province.

In the 2020-2021 school year, the school enrolled 406 students, reaching 100% of the plan, of which 438 were ethnic minority students, accounting for 95.2%, with occupations such as sewing, electricity, welding...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dao Trong Do - Director of the Department of Continuing Education, General Department of Vocational Education praised the achievements in vocational education and training of the School. The Director hoped that in the coming school year, teachers and students of the school will continue to promote the achievements to build a high-quality human resource team for the province.

Thereby, building joint venture relationships, close and long-term strategic links with businesses, production and business establishments to train according to orders and create conditions for learners to practice and arrange jobs immediately after training; meeting the requirements of the labor market, businesses and society.

The school also needs to focus on mobilizing and integrating resources to invest in strengthening facilities and training equipment; focus on improving the quality of the teaching staff; standardizing the curriculum; innovating teaching methods; expanding scientific research and international cooperation... Building the school to be worthy of being a national key school, one of 18 specialized schools nationwide in vocational training for ethnic minorities.

Also at the Opening Ceremony, the school principal was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister; Teacher Nguyen Van Vy was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; The school collective was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their achievements in education and vocational training; 10 students were awarded by the school principal for their achievements in studying and training in the 2019-2020 school year.
