On the evening of July 18, in Cua Lo ward, the opening ceremony of the 7th Nghe An Traditional Martial Arts Championship Cup 2025 officially took place, gathering more than 515 athletes from 30 delegations of 10 provinces and cities across the country.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vo Viet Thanh - Former Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, former Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee, currently Chairman of Nghe An Province Traditional Martial Arts Federation; Comrade Ngo Duc Kien - Secretary of Cua Lo Ward; representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An Province; along with many delegates, martial artists, coaches and athletes.

In his opening speech, Mr. Vo Viet Thanh affirmed that this year's tournament is not only an annual sporting event but also an opportunity to preserve and promote the nation's traditional cultural values through traditional martial arts. After 6 times of organization in 8 years, the tournament has become a prestigious playground, a place to gather the quintessence of martial arts, a bridge connecting martial arts schools inside and outside the province. The 7th organization continues to affirm the role and increasing influence of Nghe An traditional martial arts.

This year’s tournament includes two main competitions: boxing and combat, with a total of 87 competitions, promising to bring many attractive and dramatic matches. According to the Organizing Committee, although there are still many difficulties in preparation and organization, thanks to the close coordination between related units, logistics, grounds and competition conditions have all been ensured.
In particular, this tournament is held in the context of grassroots sports activities taking place vibrantly across the country in the summer. In Nghe An, besides sports such as football, volleyball, cycling, etc., traditional martial arts also contribute to creating a colorful picture for the local sports movement, especially in Cua Lo beach tourism.

The tournament is expected to be a place for exchange and learning between martial arts schools and sects, while at the same time arousing pride and martial spirit among young people and the community. In addition to professional values, the Nghe An Traditional Martial Arts Championship Cup also aims at a long-term goal: preserving the national martial arts heritage, connecting tradition with modernity, and spreading traditional martial arts more strongly in the cultural and spiritual life of the people.
The tournament is expected to take place until July 20 in Cua Lo ward./.
