Meanwhile, Nghe An has so far administered more than 200,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Specifically, a total of 132,864 people have been vaccinated, of which 67,148 have received two doses, the rest have received only one. Meanwhile, Nghe An province has more than 2.3 million people aged 18 and over.

The rate of people who have received at least one dose compared to the total population aged 18 and over in Nghe An is currently only 8.63%. This is the lowest rate in the country at the present time. Localities with high rates are Ho Chi Minh City at 94.02%, Binh Duong at 73.28%, Hanoi at 56.45%... The neighboring provinces of Nghe An also have very low rates, such as Thanh Hoa at only 9.48%, Ha Tinh at 15.11%...

Vietnam has received more than 29 million doses of various types of Covid-19 vaccines from sources such as the Covax mechanism; VNVC contracts, the Ministry of Health, and aid from governments. Of these, about 19.1 million doses of AstraZeneca (accounting for about 62% of the country's vaccine supply), more than 3 million doses of Pfizer, more than 5 million doses of Moderna, 2.5 million doses of Sinopharm, and 12,000 doses of Sputnik. The Government's goal is to receive 150 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines in 2021 to vaccinate about 70% of the population, aiming to achieve community immunity.

At the Government meeting on September 6, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that by the end of 2021, Vietnam is expected to have about 90 million doses of vaccine (not including the Covax source - which has been committed but due to scarcity, there is no specific plan). Of which, a lot of vaccines will arrive in September (expected to be more than 20 million doses) and the remaining months of the year. He asked localities to deploy the peak of vaccination in the coming months, the vaccination progress must reach one million doses per day to complete the plan.
Regarding the travel and activities of people who have been fully vaccinated with two doses, the Ministry of Health is researching to pilot in some southern localities, while continuing to have recommendations on ensuring disease prevention and control. The reason is that people who have been fully vaccinated with two doses are still susceptible to contracting the disease and infecting others, although the risk has decreased.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said that the world is capable of producing 1.5 billion doses of vaccine per month by the end of 2021 and 2.2 billion doses per month in 2022. With positive signals about vaccines, countries can set higher growth targets for 2022.
