More than 9,500 youth union members participate in Green Sunday
(Baonghean.vn) - Responding to the Green Sunday program "Plant a tree for a green Vietnam" and towards the 71st anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, on the morning of July 22, Tan Ky District Youth Union mobilized more than 9,500 youth union members to participate in community activities.

The Commune and Town Unions participated in cleaning the grounds of the Martyrs Memorial, cultural houses of the blocks and hamlets; organized garbage collection on inter-block and inter-village roads; carried out pile driving and embankment reinforcement of dams.

It is known that due to the influence of the tropical depression and storm No. 3, in recent days, Tan Ky has had heavy to very heavy rain, rising river water causing serious damage to farmers. The storm has flooded 158 internal traffic culverts, landslides on 15 km of roads, flooded 33 houses, 1,042 hectares of rice, 498 hectares of corn... The total estimated damage is more than 20 billion VND.

The launch attracted more than 9,500 Youth Union members across the district to participate in overcoming the consequences caused by the storm. The Youth Union members collected more than 16 tons of garbage, cleaned the grounds of 20 Martyrs' Memorials and more than 2km of inter-block and inter-village roads; and reinforced Lanh Nganh Dam in Tan Huong commune.
