Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee inspected and directed the work of overcoming the consequences of storms and floods in Tan Ky, Tan Phu and Tan An communes.

On the morning of October 4, the provincial working delegation led by Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council inspected and directed the work of overcoming damage caused by storm No. 10 in Tan Ky, Tan Phu and Tan An communes.

Accompanying him were comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Party Committee Office and leaders of departments and units: Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, Provincial Border Guard Command, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, Finance.

Due to the influence of storm No. 10, on the night of October 29, water levels on Ca River and Hieu River rose, exceeding the flood peaks of 1978 and 2007, causing widespread flooding in many communes in the former Tan Ky district.

In Tan Ky commune (including the old Tan Ky town and the communes of Nghia Dung, Ky Tan, Ky Son of the old Tan Ky district), the flood completely inundated and isolated 10/25 blocks and hamlets; 22/25 blocks and hamlets had flooded houses with a total of 2,241 flooded households, directly affecting the lives and activities of 9,985 people. Many areas of crops and livestock were swept away; traffic infrastructure and power grid systems were damaged...

In Tan Phu commune, the rising river water flooded the riverside hamlets, isolating about 1,900 households with more than 4,000 people. On September 30, a drowning incident occurred in the area, killing one person. Currently, the floodwaters have receded, and people are focusing on overcoming the consequences of the natural disaster.

Affected by storm No. 10, 1,163 households in Tan An commune were flooded. Of these, 743 households were isolated, 826 households had to be urgently evacuated,...; 90 electric poles were broken and thousands of meters of household electric wires and telecommunication wires were broken; many inter-hamlet and intra-hamlet concrete roads were damaged; 3 lakes and dams in the area were at risk of breaking (including: Bau Sen dam, Gieng dam, Vanh dam).

Faced with the extreme developments of the storm, the Party Committee and the Government of the communes have focused on directing and organizing the evacuation of people from areas at risk of flooding and landslides to safe places. They have organized relief supplies to evacuation sites and to flooded households.

At the same time, the commune government actively coordinated with the police, military and volunteer organizations to mobilize human resources and specialized vehicles to promptly bring stranded people to safety.

Working with the provincial working group, localities proposed early support for people to restore production such as chemicals, environmental sanitation; vehicles for rescue work; overcoming and evacuating people from areas at risk of landslides;...

Inspecting the scene, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged the efforts of localities in responding to and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10, proactively promoting the 4 on-site measures, doing a good job of forecasting and responding before the storm made landfall. After the storm, localities promptly mobilized forces to focus on promptly overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

In the coming time, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that localities continue to mobilize human and material resources to focus on restoring housing for people, restoring production; repairing essential infrastructure to serve people's lives and activities as well as other support activities. Localities need to have programs and support to create livelihoods for people to stabilize their lives and develop the economy and society.

At the same time, do a good job of assessing and clearly counting the damages with the motto of being correct, sufficient, and clear so that the province can have timely support plans for the people.

Continue to call for both spiritual and material support from organizations and individuals. At the same time, it is necessary to do a good job of receiving and distributing relief goods, ensuring to avoid overlap, fairness, and reaching the right beneficiaries.

At the localities inspected by the inspection team, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu assigned departments and branches to actively coordinate with localities to review traffic infrastructure works, essential works, etc. to promptly have solutions and remedies.

Faced with complicated weather developments, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Party Committee and local authorities to continue closely monitoring the developments and path of storm No. 11 to promptly have response plans.
