Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Office supports people affected by storm No. 10
On the afternoon of October 3, responding to the call of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, the Office of the People's Committee of Nghe An province organized a donation to support people affected by storm No. 10.
Attending the event were comrade Dang Thanh Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Deputy Chiefs of Office and all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers working at the Provincial People's Committee Office.
In the past two months, Nghe An has been hit by three major storms. Storm after storm has caused numerous difficulties for people's lives and local government operations. Storm No. 10 alone, with strong winds of level 7-10, gusts of level 11-14, and widespread heavy rain from September 27 to 29, has caused severe damage.
As of 10:00 a.m. on October 3 (incomplete data), the total damage in the province is estimated at about 2,136 billion VND. The whole province has 82 collapsed houses, 132 severely damaged houses, 1,952 damaged houses, more than 62,500 houses with unroofed roofs; 45 schools flooded, 37 medical facilities damaged; many agricultural, forestry and fishery production areas were severely damaged, and a series of traffic, irrigation and electricity works were affected.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, comrade Dao Quang Thien - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the spirit of "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves, the less torn leaves cover the more torn leaves" of the nation needs to be promoted more than ever; thereby, mobilizing each cadre and party member to show responsibility, join hands to share, encourage people in flood-affected areas to overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives; at the same time, support the grassroots cadre team to ensure smooth operation of commune-level government.
Right at the ceremony, the leaders and all officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Provincial People's Committee Office directly contributed to support. The entire amount of donations will be transferred to the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Relief Committee to promptly support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives and production.
