The 2017 version has not changed much in design, except for the new, more muscular V-shaped front mask. The speedometer has not changed, but the parameters are rearranged in an easy-to-see direction.
The Honda Lead's appearance has many rounded lines to attract women. The new Lead has more side moldings, the body is refined to hug the rider more closely. The footrest is slightly refined.
There are no technical changes on the new Honda Lead. The old rival scooter modela Yamaha Acruzo still equipped with paddingg single-cylinder electronic fuel injection engine, 125cc capacity integrated with eSP technology with Idling Stop feature, automatically shuts off the engine temporarily when stopped for more than 3 seconds.
Enginehas a capacity of 11.3 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and torque of 11.6 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The Japanese car company said theThe new engine on the 2017 Lead is 2.4% more fuel efficient than the old version.
For the first time on the high-end version of Lead, Honda equipped the Smart Key smart locking system previously equipped on Honda SH.
Honda said it will announce the price of Lead 2017 in the Vietnamese market on August 3rd and then sell the 2017 version. Currently, Honda's scooter model with a price from 37.5 million VND is still the 2016 version.
Lead is one of Honda's most successful scooter models in Vietnam after Air Blade. Before 2008, SCRs imported from China "stormed" the market thanks to their unique and convenient design and durable engine. To compete with SCR, Honda Vietnam launched Lead in late 2008 with an almost identical design and sold at a price of about 30-31 million VND.
From 2008 to 2013, the vehicle used a 110cc engine. In March 2013, the Lead 125 was launched, changing the design to be more compact, sporty and youthful. The 125cc engine with electronic fuel injection replaced the previous 110 type.
Appearing at the Vietnam Motor Show this time is a significant upgrade since the Lead 125 was launched. Adding utilities such as smartkey is the way Honda does on both SH and Lead to compete more strongly with rivals from Yamaha.
