Coach Cristiano Roland is satisfied with the fighting spirit of the Vietnam U17 Team.
Although the Vietnam U17 team regretfully drew in the opening match against the Kyrgyzstan U17 team, coach Cristiano Roland expressed satisfaction with his players' fighting spirit.
Evening of October 23,Vietnam U17 team had their opening match in the 2025 AFC U17 qualifiers, against the Kyrgyzstan U17 team. Despite playing very hard and creating many opportunities, coach Cristiano Roland's students still could not score and had to accept a 0-0 draw.
Speaking after the match, coach Cristiano Roland expressed his satisfaction with his players' fighting spirit. What he regretted most was that the team did not score the goal to get the result as initially expected.

“It’s a pity that the goal didn’t come. My players played fast, trying to control the game. The opponent didn’t let us play, so we created many chances but unfortunately we couldn’t score. I rate today’s match as a good match, but in the future the players need to have better performances,” said coach Cristiano Roland.
In this match, the U17 Vietnam team played solidly in the first half and ensured safety on their home field. In the second half, Viet Anh and his teammates pushed up their attack formation, creating many dangerous opportunities.Coach Cristiano Rolandbelieves that the young players have shown good team spirit.

“We will focus on each match. I will not comment on any individual, U17 Vietnam is a team. The players showed solidarity and played their best. They are all of good quality and full of potential.”
Also attending the post-match press conference, the best player of the match, defender Le Huy Viet Anh, said: “The whole team showed great determination but were unlucky and did not complete the set goal. The whole team will review today's match and learn from the experience, try to improve the shortcomings and do better than what we have shown.”

On the other side of the front line, coach Igor Nikitin of the Kyrgyzstan U17 team expressed his gratitude to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the fans of the host Phu Tho. The accommodation and training conditions helped Kyrgyzstan perform well. This coach said that he had carefully studied the strengths and weaknesses of the Vietnam U17 team.

Coach Igor Nikitin added: “We have studied the video of U17 Vietnam carefully, know their strengths and try to limit the gaps. The climate in Vietnam is very different, we arrived here early and were well prepared. Winning 1 point today is what makes me satisfied.”
After this match, the Vietnam U17 team will have the next match against the Myanmar U17 team at 7:00 p.m. on October 25./.
