In the first match of the 2023/2024 season, Song Lam Nghe An had to face strong opponent Viettel. However, with the impressive performance of the young players, the home team Vinh created a better game than the opponent.

Despite being behind early, with confidence and determination, Song Lam Nghe An showed a diverse playing style, thereby equalizing the score in the 14th minute of the match. After that, Olaha, Manh Quynh, Xuan Dai had many opportunities, but in an unlucky day, the home team was forced to share points with the away team Viettel.

After the match, coach Phan Nhu Thuat evaluated the fighting spirit of his players. In this match, Viettel was at a disadvantage when Hoang Duc could not play due to injury.
