Tan Ky district aims to complete the Program in the second quarter of 2025, 2 months earlier than the whole province.

On the afternoon of March 11, comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Mobilizing and Supporting the Construction and Repair of Houses for the Poor and People with Housing Difficulties in the Province (Steering Committee 1838) inspected Tan Ky district.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh directly inspected 4 households that benefited from the support policy for removing temporary and dilapidated houses in Tan Ky commune, district, including Mrs. Tran Thi Tieu and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, who completed construction in 2025. Meanwhile, the households of Mr. Nguyen The Ky and Mr. Pham Huu Chung are preparing to start construction.

Households shared their joy when receiving support from the Party, State, province and district to realize their dream of having a solid house and settling down.

Sharing the joy with the families, the head of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed the caring policies of the Party and State, including the goal of eliminating dilapidated and makeshift houses nationwide by 2025.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that with this motivation, people will improve their lives and escape poverty; and households preparing to start building houses need to choose a scale suitable to their conditions. During this process, the province, district and commune need to support and advise on suitable house models.

Tan Ky is a mountainous district, the living standards of a part of the people are still low, the rate of poor and near-poor households in some communes is still high, most of the poor households in need of housing support are mainly concentrated in remote and difficult areas of the district such as: Dong Van, Phu Son, Giai Xuan, Tan Hop, Huong Son, Nghia Phuc...

Through review and work, the total number of households in need of implementation in Tan Ky is 674 houses (435 new houses, 239 houses repaired). The total budget received by the district is nearly 14.8 billion VND, the remaining undisbursed budget is nearly 2.8 billion VND.

The highlight of Tan Ky with the motto of "maximizing internal strength, enhancing external strength", in addition to the districts supporting through mobilization, socialization and budget allocated by the district, families, clans, neighbors... have supported in many different forms with a converted value of up to nearly 36 billion VND to help poor households build houses.

Up to now, 262 houses have been completed in the district, of which 195 houses have been newly built and 67 houses have been repaired. The total number of houses that need to be completed in 2025 is 411, of which 239 houses will be newly built and 172 houses will be repaired.

Of which, the remaining 49 houses under Program 1838 (41 new houses, 8 repaired houses) have been started and funded according to regulations in 2024.

The program to support the construction of houses for meritorious people is 362 houses (204 new houses, 158 repaired houses) with a total funding of 16.98 billion VND. The district requests the province to soon support this source of capital for implementation.

Through inspection and listening to reports and recommendations directly on the field, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh highly appreciated the implementation progress of Tan Ky district and requested the Steering Committee of the district and commune levels to regularly follow the assigned areas, grasp the specific situation of the locality, of each remaining approved subject to promptly direct and implement the Program to ensure flexibility, efficiency and on schedule.

It is known that Tan Ky aims to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the second quarter of 2025, earlier than the province's target.

The Central Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide assessed that Nghe An is leading the country in the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses (excluding housing support for people with meritorious services and housing under the two national target programs).

On the afternoon of March 10, at the third meeting of the Steering Committee, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized: "Absolutely no one will be allowed to live in temporary or dilapidated houses. This is the command of our hearts and conscience, and the responsibility of the community."

The Central Steering Committee aims to basically complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by October 30, 2025, two months ahead of the original plan. Nghe An province is determined to complete the program before August 31, 2025.
