Hyundai in the US said that Tucsons manufactured between May 20, 2015 and May 31, 2016, using the 7-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission, may have a problem of not moving if the driver continuously presses and releases the accelerator pedal.
The Korean automaker will email affected owners later this month to schedule a time to bring their vehicles to dealerships for inspection and free replacement of the faulty parts.
Up to now, the Korean car company has not received any information about unfortunate accidents due to the above error.
The 2016 Tucson is the third generation of this car line, launched in February last year. This SUV is offered with 2 engine options in the US market including 2.0L GDi and 1.6L turbocharged. The 1.6L, 4-cylinder inline, turbocharged version uses a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
