Hyundai launches compact sedan Lafesta
Lafesta launched in China, using a 1.6 turbocharged engine, with a 7-speed automatic transmission, dual clutch.
Lafesta means “festival” in Italian, the name has a European feel but this is a car line for the Chinese market, just launched at the Beijing exhibition. According to Hyundai representative, Lafesta targets young, successful customers.

The exterior design of the car carries Hyundai's new philosophy, somewhat sporty. The radiator grille is completely different from the style used on current car models. The headlight cluster uses LED bulbs, the daytime running lights are placed right above the fog lights.
“China is developing at a fast pace and so is the approach of its people. They are increasingly confident, optimistic and creative. With Lafesta we can help them express their personality and change with current trends,” said Simon Loasby, Design Director of Hyundai China.
The Korean automaker will have a separate launch event for this model, with more detailed information. |
Along with the new sporty design philosophy, Lafesta also uses a 1.6 turbocharged GDi engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Korean car company did not announce the exact parameters of this engine, but it is expected that the car's engine can reach a minimum capacity of 200 horsepower.
Lafesta will go on sale in China in the fourth quarter of this year. More details such as price and specifications will be announced at a separate event of this car company in the near future.
