'Plan' to murder woman, hide body in car in apartment basement

On the evening of April 12, Bo De Ward Police, Long Bien District received a report from the family of Ms. NPNQ (born in 1984, residing in an apartment building in Bo De Ward, Long Bien), that she left home at 8:00 a.m. on April 12 but had not returned, and her family and agency could not contact Ms. Q.

Immediately after receiving the information, Long Bien District Police directed professional units to coordinate with Bo De Ward Police to check the vehicle, search for Ms. Q and take measures.investigate.

During the search, at 8:00 a.m. on April 15, Long Bien District Police discovered Ms. Q dead in a car parked in the basement of an apartment building in Ngoc Lam Ward, Long Bien District.

Long Bien District Police coordinated with the City Police Department's professional departments to investigate and clarify the case. At 9:00 p.m. on April 16, Long Bien District Police and the Criminal Police Department arrested Truong Viet Hung while he was hiding in Phu Ly City, Ha Nam Province.

At the police station, Hung confessed that he and Ms. Q knew each other. After many conflicts and arguments between Hung and Ms. Q, Hung had the intention of killing Ms. Q and then committing suicide.

Because he had known Ms. Q for a long time and knew her daily routine, at around 7:00 a.m. on April 12, Hung went to the apartment building where Ms. Q lived, waited in the lobby, and took the elevator with Ms. Q down to the underground parking lot. Because Hung was wearing a mask, standing behind Ms. Q and looking down, Ms. Q did not recognize Hung.

Arriving at Ms. Q's car, Hung put one arm around her neck and the other hand over her mouth. When she collapsed, Hung sat on top of her, pinned her legs against her biceps, and strangled her to death. Hung then dragged Ms. Q to the back door, stuffed her between the driver's seat and the back seat, and wrapped his shirt around her head to avoid detection.

Hung drove out of the apartment building's basement to the other side of Dong Tru Bridge to Dong Hoi Commune, Dong Anh District. There, Hung took 16 million VND from Ms. Q and deposited it into her gaming account. Then, he drove to the apartment building where Ms. Q often went to the gym to hide the car and Ms. Q's body in the apartment building's basement and then left.

During his escape, Hung went to alley 390 Nguyen Van Cu, Ngoc Lam to play video games. At 12:30, Hung took a bus to his friend's house in Cau Dien ward - Nam Tu Liem district - Hanoi to rest and have dinner. At around 11:00 pm on April 12, Hung returned to Long Bien district, rented a motel room, and on the way, Hung threw away Ms. Q's phone into the Red River.

On the morning of April 13, Hung took a bus to Ha Nam to play video games. On April 16, while wandering on National Highway 1A, he was discovered and arrested by the police.

Currently, the functional units of Hanoi City Police are continuing to consolidate the case file to handle the subject according to the provisions of the law and clarify the act of not reporting the crime of the person involved.
