On December 13, news from the Hue City Police Investigation Agency said that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Phan Huu Nghi (born in 1988, residing in Thuy Phu, Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien Hue province) for the crime of "fraudulent appropriation of property".

Previously, according to information from the police, on the morning of December 4, Mr. Tran Ngoc V. (44 years old, residing in Quang Tri) was taking care of his father at the Department of Neurosurgery, Hue Central Hospital (Hue City) when a young man named Nghi came to get acquainted. Nghi borrowed Mr. V.'s iPhone 7 plus (worth 22 million VND) to read the newspaper. When he saw Mr. V. sleeping soundly, Nghi "stole" the iPhone 7 and took a taxi to Huong Thuy town to sell.

A police representative said that because Mr. V. had turned on the location service on his iPhone 7, he tracked his phone and reported it to the police. When Nghi was delivering the iPhone 7 to a store in Huong Thuy town, Mr. V. and the police caught him red-handed.

Through this incident, Hue City Police advised people to be careful and vigilant against thieves when visiting crowded hospitals and medical facilities to avoid losing their property.

It is known that location services are available on most smartphones such as Iphone, Samsung, Sony... helping users find their lost phone with the condition that location tracking service must be turned on.
