Opening of the Sports Tournament for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Culture and Sports sector
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 12, in Thanh Chuong district, the Department of Culture and Sports organized the opening ceremony of the 2023 sports tournament for officials, civil servants and workers of Nghe An province.
Attending the opening ceremony were leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports; leaders of the Department of Culture - Information and the Center for Culture - Sports and Communication of districts, cities and towns, along with more than 300 athletes participating in the tournament.
The 2023 Sports Tournament for officials, civil servants and workers of Nghe An province was organized by the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports to practically celebrate the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2023) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2023), and the 78th anniversary of the traditional day of the Department of Culture and Information (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2023).
The participants of the tournament are cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the Department of Culture and Information, Center for Culture, Sports and Communication of districts, cities and towns in Nghe An province.
The tournament attracted 19 teams. Athletes will compete in two events: Tug of war and walking.
In tug of war, athletes will compete in mixed events with 8 athletes; mixed events with 6 athletes; mixed events with 4 athletes.
In the walking event, athletes will compete in events according to age: 45 years old and under (born in 1978); 46 years old and over (born in 1977), with competition distances: 3,000 m for men and 1,500 m for women.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the competitions took place with enthusiastic cheering from the athletes participating in the tournament.
The tournament is expected to close on August 15, 2023./.
