Inauguration of General Chu Huy Man memorial house and naming of street

(Baonghean.vn) -To celebrate the 100th anniversary of General Chu Huy Man's birth, this afternoon, March 14, in Hung Hoa commune (Vinh city), the People's Committee of Nghe An province and Vinh city solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the memorial house of General Chu Huy Man and named Chu Huy Man street.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Dinh The Huynh - Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Lieutenant General Mai Quang Phan - Party Central Committee member - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; representatives of the Office of the President, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, military and police generals who worked and fought with General Chu Huy Man, representatives of a number of ministries, branches, Military Region IV, Military Region V.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of provincial departments and branches, Vinh City, Hung Nguyen and Nghi Loc districts, relatives of General Chu Huy Man, and a large number of people of Hung Hoa commune attending the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Sinh - Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee delivered a speech inaugurating the memorial house; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered a speech highlighting the great contributions and summarizing the career of General Chu Huy Man, the purpose and significance of building the memorial house for the General. With the great contributions of General Chu Huy Man, on June 28, 2012, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2328 approving the detailed planning of the General Chu Huy Man Memorial Area.

On August 28, 2012, the project officially started construction. After more than 6 months of urgent construction, the project was completed with a total construction cost of 8.2 billion VND from the provincial and city budgets, contributions from the general's family and from the gratitude of the departments, agencies, and units inside and outside the province.

The project includes: Memorial House, Guest House, two restoration houses located on a 7,473 m2 campus surrounded by fences and auxiliary works such as: internal traffic system, parking lot, power supply system, water supply and drainage system, landscape space, fire protection system...

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate the memorial house of the General, comrade Dinh The Huynh offered flowers, incense, planted a commemorative tree and wrote in the golden book of commemorative notes. Next was the ceremony to name the street Chu Huy Man. Comrade Dinh The Huynh and comrade Ho Duc Phoc pulled up the curtain to name the street after General Chu Huy Man. The street is 3,600 m long and 11 m wide from the intersection of Nguyen Viet Xuan Street to the end of Phong Hao Hamlet, Hung Hoa Commune. This is a gesture, a respect of the Party, State and people for the General to show gratitude and forever remember the great contributions of General Chu Huy Man to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
