Mr. Phan Van Tien, residing in Dien Chau district, asked: When transporting goods by car, what regulations must the driver follow?

Reply:

According to Clause 1, Article 49 of the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety 2024, when transporting goods by car, the driver must comply with the following regulations:

a) Bring sufficient documents as prescribed by law;

b) Check the vehicle's safety conditions before participating in road traffic;

c) Check the arrangement of goods to ensure safety; do not carry goods exceeding the permitted weight or exceeding the vehicle's size limit;

d) Goods transported on vehicles must be neatly arranged, securely tied, and ensure safety according to regulations of the Minister of Transport;

d) When transporting bulk goods, construction materials and waste, they must be covered tightly to prevent them from falling onto the road, causing noise or dust during transport on the road, and the maximum height of the goods must be at least 10 cm lower than the top edge of the vehicle's body;

e) When transporting goods stacked in front and behind the vehicle, during the day there must be red signals at the starting and ending points of the goods. At night or when it is dark, there must be lights or signals for road users to recognize.
