Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries - Institute of Agriculture and Resources (Vinh University) celebrates its 20th anniversary

On April 17, 2002, the Minister of Education and Training signed Decision No. 1715/QD-BGD&DT-TCCB on the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, marking a memorable event in the development history of the multidisciplinary Vinh University. The aim is to restructure the school with the goal of building Vinh University into a national key university, a member of the ASEAN University network.

On June 8, 2017, the University President signed Decision No. 565/QD-DHV on the establishment of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources on the basis of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Vinh University. Marking an important turning point in the development process of the Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources now.

In his commemorative speech, TienDr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh - Director of the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Vinh University) shared that after 20 years of construction and development, the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources has affirmed its role as a training institution for human resources at university and postgraduate levels in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, natural resources and environment. Up to now, the faculty has trained more than 400 master's students and more than 4,500 students in university training programs (more than 3,000 full-time students, more than 1,500 part-time and distance learning students). The results of surveys and assessments of learners show that the majority of graduates have stable jobs. The Institute always promotes and focuses on investing in developing scientific and technological potential to promote training activities, scientific research, technology transfer and innovation; at the same time, expanding international and domestic cooperation in depth, bringing practical results.

Dr. Nguyen Dinh Vinh also affirmed that continuing the 20-year tradition of building and developing, in the coming time, the Institute will continue to do a good job in training, building classes of good engineers, contributing to the cause of building and developing the country. Knowing how to grasp opportunities as well as new challenges to fully orient the Institute's development to meet the output standards statement on training and scientific research, in accordance with the statement "Mission, Vision" ofVinh University“to become a smart university, top 500 universities in Asia by 2030, top 1,000 universities in the world by 2045”.

Recognizing and appreciating the achievements that the Institute of Agriculture and Resources has achieved, Professor, Dr.Professor Nguyen Huy Bang has given specific instructions and orientations for the institute in the coming time, such as the need to flexibly develop training programs in the direction of the "Innovation - Creativity" ecosystem; strengthen relationships with scientists to form interdisciplinary research groups with enough potential to solve practical problems in the agriculture - forestry - fishery sector... Professor, DoctorDr. Nguyen Huy Bang happily shared that the Korean Government and the partner university in Korea will fund about 2.2 million USD under the non-refundable ODA program for the Institute of Agriculture and Resources to serve strategic training development programs in the coming time.

On this occasion, the collective and 2 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Ministry of Education and Training and 2 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the process of building and developing the Institute of Agriculture and Resources.
