Suspect who shot and injured two people turned himself in

(Baonghean.vn) - After many days on the run, the suspect who used a gun to seriously injure two young men at a restaurant on Le Nin Street has turned himself in.

On November 5, Vinh City Police announced that the Investigation Police Agency had initiated criminal proceedings for “Murder”, “Disturbing public order” and “Illegal possession and use of military weapons” that occurred at a restaurant on Lenin Avenue on the evening of October 20.

The investigation agency also prosecuted Hoang Khac Hieu (born in 1991, residing in Block 5, Quang Trung Ward, Vinh City) for investigation of the crimes of “Murder” and “Illegal possession and use of military weapons”. Hieu was detained for 4 months from the date of his surrender.

In connection with the case, the investigation agency also prosecuted Pham Duc Nghia, Le Trong Duc, Le Ngoc Anh, and Nguyen Gia Dinh for the crime of “Disturbing public order”. Le Ngoc Anh was detained for 3 months, and the other subjects were banned from leaving their place of residence.

Hoang Khac Hieu was accused of being the one who directly held the gun and shot and injured Le Ngoc Anh (born in 1992, residing in Cua Nam ward, Vinh city) and Nguyen Gia Dinh (born in 1992, residing in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city). This gun was later handed over to Vinh city police by a subject.

According to initial records, on the evening of October 20, Hieu was eating with a group of friends in a restaurant on Lenin Avenue when Nguyen Gia Dinh entered and started a fight. Seeing Hieu being attacked, the group of people at the same table stood up and grabbed chairs to chase and beat Dinh.

Hieu pulled out a gun and shot Dinh in the stomach. At this time, a group of Dinh's men chased Hieu with weapons. After running a distance, Hieu turned around and shot Ngoc Anh in the shoulder. During the scuffle, Ngoc Anh took the gun and beat Hieu with many others.

Hieu escaped and fled to Hanoi that night. Dinh and Ngoc Anh were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors performed surgery to remove the bullet from Ngoc Anh, but Dinh was shot in the abdomen and back, and the bullet was not removed yet.

After receiving the news, Vinh City Police mobilized forces to quickly arrive at the scene. That same night, Vinh City Police arrested Pham Duc Nghia (born in 1997, residing in Van Tien block, Hung Dung ward, Vinh City) and Le Trong Duc (born in 1996, residing in hamlet 1, Dien Loi commune, Dien Chau district) to clarify the act of disturbing public order.

Knowing that the police were searching for him, on October 25, while hiding in Hanoi, Hieu surrendered to the police and was then extradited to Nghe An by Vinh City Police.
