Accordingly, the Investigation Police Agency of Anh Son District Police prosecuted Mr. Nguyen Van Dao - Vice Chairman of Khai Son Commune People's Committee for the crime of lack of responsibility causing serious consequences, as prescribed in Article 360 of the Penal Code.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dao was the head of the support payment team but did not fulfill his responsibilities, leading to loss and incorrect disbursement of support money to restore production for people affected by storms and floods in 2020.
Mr. Dao was temporarily suspended from his position as Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Khai Son commune and banned from leaving his place of residence.
Also in this case, previously, the Investigation Police Agency of Anh Son District Police prosecuted and temporarily detained 4 officials of Khai Son commune, including: Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - Chairman of Khai Son Commune People's Committee for the crime of Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences; Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen - Accountant of Khai Son Commune People's Committee, Ms. Phan Thi Hoai, an officer of the Commune's Land and Agriculture Department and Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien - a member of the Agricultural Cooperative.
These four people were all arrested and detained because they were all prosecuted for the crime of "Abusing position and power while performing official duties."
