Prosecution of the case of a teacher forcing the whole class to slap a classmate 231 times

Colonel Doan Thanh Tuyen, Chief of Quang Ninh District Police, confirmed that the district police have decided to prosecute the case for torturing others under Article 140 of the Penal Code. The decision has been sent to the People's Procuracy of the same level for approval.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 19, at Duy Ninh Secondary School, Quang Ninh District, Hoang Long Nhat (11 years old), a 6th grade student, was reported by a classmate to his homeroom teacher for swearing.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy (born in 1977) forced her classmates to slap Nhat 230 times on the cheeks. According to the students, if a student slapped lightly, the punished person would slap back 10 times, so Nhat was slapped very hard.

When he was slapped the last time, Nhat cried and cursed in pain. Ms. Thuy standing next to him slapped him again. In total, Nhat was slapped 231 times, causing him to be hospitalized with both cheeks bruised, swollen, and having difficulty chewing and swallowing.

On November 24, Nhat returned to school and wished not to study in Ms. Thuy's homeroom class.

Ms. Thuy is a Math and Technology Education teacher who has just transferred to the school from Hai Ninh Secondary School a few months ago. Previously, when she was teaching at Hai Ninh School, she also had a harsh way of dealing with students who violated the rules, which made parents angry.
