Controlling the man who used a machete to slash 4 people in his wife's family
Pham Thanh, 50 years old, took a machete to his mother-in-law's house and killed her, and injured his father, sister, and wife when they intervened on the afternoon of October 9.
At around 3 p.m., Phan Thanh, a resident of Son Binh Commune, Chau Duc District, took a machete to his 77-year-old mother-in-law's house next door and hacked her to death in the living room. The perpetrator then went on to slash his 78-year-old father-in-law and 47-year-old sister-in-law.

At this time, his wife (44 years old) ran from her house to stop him and was also slashed. Thanh was then restrained by police and people at the scene.
Three injured people were taken to the emergency room, their injuries are not life-threatening.

An investigator said that Mr. Thanh worked as a fisherman in Ray River Lake and was considered by locals to be gentle and not a drinker. "He is still in a panic and cannot be given a statement to clarify the matter."cause of crime", this person said.
