Swimmer Vo Thanh Tung breaks ASEAN Para Games record
In the first swimming competition on September 19, swimmer Vo Thanh Tung excellently broke the record for the men's 200m freestyle in the S5 disability category with a time of 2 minutes 59.17 seconds at the ASEAN Para Games 2017 taking place in Malaysia.

Thanh Tung completely dominated his opponents in the first final round. In this round, only the home swimmer Jaremy Siga could keep up with Thanh Tung in the first 50m. But then, Thanh Tung broke away with a powerful stroke to reach the finish line first with a time of 2 minutes 59.17 seconds. Thanh Tung's achievement also broke the current ASEAN Para Games record of 3 minutes.

This is the 9th gold medal of the Vietnamese delegation at the ASEAN Para Games 2017. Thanh Tung was awarded a bonus by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dat - Herbalife VN's communications director - for this impressive achievement.

Talking to Tuoi Tre, Thanh Tung said: “I was also surprised to break the ASEAN Para Games record, but it was also the result of my team and I’s focused training. This achievement was partly thanks to using Herbalife’s sponsored nutrition regimen to increase the amount of training.”
