Disciplinary action against many officials in the case of 'Clearing 108 hectares of forest'

On October 5, the Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee announced its conclusions regarding the officials who allowed the clearing of 108 hectares of forest in two weeks in Dong Xuan district, Phu Yen province.

Accordingly, a Party warning was issued to Mr. So Bep (district committee member, Party secretary of Phu Mo commune) for knowing that sub-zone 83 and sub-zone 90 were forested land, not reclaimed land, but still signed to confirm the application for land use right certificates for households.

This created conditions for the district's Department of Natural Resources and Environment to create three fake documents to advise the Dong Xuan District People's Committee to issue certificates of forestry land use rights in violation of regulations.

Disciplinary warning from the Party for Mr. Nguyen Hong Duc (former director of the Office of Land Use Rights Registration of Dong Xuan district) for creating seven fake records for granting land use rights certificates, incorrectly confirming the origin of the land, and incorrectly certifying the subjects to whom the certificates were granted.

The Inspection Committee of Phu Yen Provincial Party Committee submitted to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to strictly handle Mr. Cao Thanh Luong (Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Xuan District) and requested to direct a serious review of Mr. Dang Van Trong (District Party Committee member, Deputy of the District Party Committee's Organization Board, former Vice Chairman of Dong Xuan District People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term).

After investigation, Phu Yen Provincial Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Pham Xuan Trinh (40 years old, in Xuan Quang 1 commune, Dong Xuan district) for 4 months.
