Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the death of musician Hoang Nguyen
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of August 20, in Minh Chau commune, Dien Chau district (Nghe An), the Dien Chau district Literature and Arts Association organized an art program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of musician Hoang Nguyen (Cao Cu Phuc).
Attending the program were representatives of Nghe An Literature and Arts Association, leaders of Dien Chau district, Dien Chau Literature and Arts Association, representatives of Cao Cu family and many people of Minh Chau commune.
The program was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of musician Hoang Nguyen (1973 - 2023), to commemorate and pay tribute to the talented musician, a son of Nghe An.
Musician Hoang Nguyen's real name is Cao Cu Phuc (1930 - 1973), from Dien Binh commune (now Minh Chau commune), Dien Chau district. Born and raised in a family with a tradition of medical practice, he lost his mother so he lived with his paternal family from a young age. Growing up, he followed his father to Quang Tri to continue his studies, then taught and composed music. This is the reason why for decades many people have mistakenly believed that the musician's hometown was in Quang Tri.
Due to the changes in historical events, Cao Cu Phuc studied in Hue, then went to Da Lat to teach and compose music, then was exiled to Con Dao; after being released from prison, he continued his work of teaching and composing music in Saigon. In 1973, musician Hoang Nguyen passed away in Vung Tau due to a car accident at the age of 43, leaving behind grief for relatives and friends as his career and artistic path were still unfinished.
Considered a talented musician, Hoang Nguyen has left many famous works in the treasure trove of Vietnamese music heritage; his music is rich in romanticism and lyricism, imbued with the humanity of a soul always striving for truth, goodness, and beauty. His songs touch people's hearts and leave a beautiful mark on the hearts of music lovers for many generations.
The program "Musical Night in Memory of Musician Hoang Nguyen (Cao Cu Phuc)" with performances of famous songs by musician Hoang Nguyen that have been licensed for circulation, performed by artists and actors of Nghe An Traditional Arts Center.
The program attracted a large audience and brought joy to music lovers in Dien Chau district.
