Commemorating the 67th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd in Tan Trao.

On August 16th, at Tan Trao Square, Tan Trao commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province, a solemn ceremony was held to commemorate the 67th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

Attending the commemoration ceremony were: Comrade Le Hong Anh, Member of the Political Bureau and Standing Secretary of the Central Committee; Comrade Ha Thi Khiet, Secretary of the Central Committee and Head of the Central Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; leaders of ministries, central and local departments and agencies; and a large number of people of various ethnic groups in Tuyen Quang province.

After 30 years of wandering in search of a way to save the country, in early 1941, Uncle Ho returned to Vietnam and directly led the Vietnamese revolution. Given the favorable developments in the world situation for the Vietnamese revolution, in early May 1945, Uncle Ho decided to move from Pac Bo (Cao Bang) to Tan Trao, Son Duong, Tuyen Quang to prepare the necessary conditions for the General Uprising to seize power from the fascists and colonialists.

On August 16, 1945, the National Congress met at Tan Trao communal house to elect the National Liberation Committee (i.e., the Provisional Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam), with Comrade Ho Chi Minh as Chairman. They decided on a general uprising to seize power throughout the country, leading to the successful August Revolution.

On August 19, 1945, before leaving Tan Trao for Hanoi, President Ho Chi Minh, with his strategic vision, foresaw the resistance war against the French colonial invaders and directed the continued consolidation and construction of the revolutionary base in Tuyen Quang.

During the nine years of resistance against French colonialism, history once again entrusted Tuyen Quang with the mission of being the capital of the resistance – the place where President Ho Chi Minh, the Central Party Committee, the National Assembly, the Government, the Front, 13 out of 14 ministries, and nearly 60 central agencies and departments were headquartered, leading the entire nation in resistance and national reconstruction.

The land of Tuyen Quang is also the place where many important events of the Party and the country took place: the Second National Congress of the Party - the first Party Congress held in the country; the Congress of the unification of Viet Minh - Lien Viet; the Congress of the alliance of the three countries Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia; the First Congress of Heroic Emulation Fighters and Exemplary Cadres; the 6th Expanded Plenum of the 2nd Central Committee; the third session of the 1st National Assembly - the only session of the National Assembly held during the resistance war...

As the nerve center of the resistance war, Tuyen Quang witnessed many important events, serving as the source of strategic guiding principles from the Party and the beloved President Ho Chi Minh, leading our nation's long and arduous resistance war from one victory to another. During his time in Tuyen Quang, President Ho Chi Minh completed his famous works "Diligence, Frugality, Integrity, and Righteousness," and "Mass Mobilization"...

In the spirit of national celebration marking the 67th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, the people of Tuyen Quang are honored to receive the Prime Minister's decision classifying Tan Trao as a "Special National Monument".

Presenting the certificate designating Tan Trao as a "Special National Monument" to the leaders and people of Tuyen Quang province, Comrade Le Hong Anh emphasized: Closely linked to the history of the birth and development of the Vietnamese revolution, Tan Trao - Tuyen Quang has become a familiar and sacred place, intimately connected with the history of the nation.

The decision to classify Tan Trao as a "Special National Monument" is a tribute and high appreciation from the Party and State for the position, role, and historical significance of the site, while also acknowledging the immense contributions of the Party Committee and people of Tuyen Quang province to the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese nation.
