Celebrating 70 years of Traffic Police Force Tradition Day

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 19, the Provincial Police held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Traffic Police Force's Traditional Day (February 21, 1946 - February 21, 2016).

Attending the event were Major General Nguyen Huu Danh - Deputy Director of the Traffic Police Department, Major General Nguyen Xuan Lam - Deputy Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Public Security. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Quang Huy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Huynh Thanh Dien - Member of the Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of a number of relevant departments and agencies.

On February 21, 1946, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 23/SL merging the Police Department and the Integrity Department into the Vietnam Public Security Service. This was also an important milestone marking the birth of the Traffic Police force.

Comrade Le Quang Huy spoke highly of the contributions of the Traffic Police force of Nghe An province over the past 70 years.

After 70 years of building, fighting and growing, together with the traffic police force of the whole country, Nghe An traffic police force has continuously promoted the revolutionary tradition of the heroic Soviet homeland, both fighting and building, establishing many outstanding achievements.

Traffic police coordinate with professional units to rescue victims of human trafficking.

This is also the main force, the core force on the front of ensuring traffic safety and order, contributing significantly to the overall achievements of Nghe An Police in ensuring security and order. With these important contributions, over the years, many collectives and individuals have been awarded. In 2005, Nghe An Traffic Police Department was the only unit of the Traffic Police force and the national Police unit to be honored with the title "Glory of Vietnam".

At the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Quang Huy acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements that the Nghe An Provincial Police force in general and the Provincial Traffic Police force in particular have achieved over the past 70 years.

In order for Nghe An Traffic Police to promote their tradition and continue to fulfill their assigned tasks in all situations, in the coming time, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hopes that: The Party Committee and the leaders of the Provincial Police will continue to propagate and effectively implement the contents of Directive No. 18-CT/TW dated September 4, 2012 of the Central Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in ensuring order and safety on roads, railways, waterways and overcoming traffic congestion.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee presented a banner "Nghe An Traffic Police Force 70 years of striving, building and growing"; the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented certificates of merit to 2 individuals with outstanding achievements. On this occasion, many collectives and individuals of Nghe An Traffic Police Force were also awarded certificates of merit by the Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security and Nghe An Police for their outstanding achievements in their work.
