Ky Son: Ceremony to welcome martyrs who died in Laos back home
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 15, in Muong Xen town (Ky Son), the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Ky Son district solemnly held a ceremony to welcome the remains of 65 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in the Lao PDR back to Vietnam.
Attending the ceremony, on the Lao side, there were representatives of the special working group of the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane and Xay Xom Bun. On the Nghe An side, there were comrade Ha Tan Tien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the special working group of Nghe An province, representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of Ky Son district and a large number of local people.

At the ceremony, delegates and people respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express their deep gratitude to the martyrs who heroically sacrificed for national independence, for the revolutionary ideals of the Party and the cause of liberating the brotherly country of Laos.
The feats and sacrifices of the martyrs have contributed to glorifying and adding color to the golden history of the two countries, while also strengthening the loyal sentiments and special solidarity and friendship between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.

Welcoming them back to rest in the bosom of motherland is an opportunity for today's generations to remember their achievements and also an opportunity for the people of Ky Son ethnic groups to express their gratitude to the heroic sons of the nation.
Faced with the requirements of the task of protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, the heroic sacrifices of the heroic martyrs further arouse the spirit of patriotism, the sense of national independence, and the determination of the entire Party and people in firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.
Over the years, with a sense of responsibility and sacred affection for the heroic martyrs, Nghe An province has closely coordinated with provinces of Laos to search for, collect and gather nearly 12,000 martyrs' remains to bring back to the country for burial.
