Due to the impact of floods and rains since September 4th, more than 35 hectares of summer-autumn rice crop of Huu Lap commune have been seriously damaged. Many areas of rice fields will be difficult to restore in the near future. People have faced many difficulties, and now they face even more difficulties after the floods have passed.
Mr. Lo Dinh Thu - Chairman of the People's Committee of Bao Nam Commune (Ky Son) shared: "This is one of the difficulties of the commune, because flash floods have damaged more than 2/3 of the rice area in the area, the risk of people going hungry in the coming time is very high".
In Chieu Luu commune, along with the rice fields directly damaged by flash floods and buried soil, there are still many rice fields at risk of total loss due to damage to the dam system, leading to a lack of irrigation water for the remaining rice fields.
“Currently, there are still 16 hectares of rice fields in Xieng Thu and Luu Hoa villages that were not washed away by the last flood. However, the land and irrigation canals have been completely washed away. The commune cannot repair them yet because the cost is too high and the damage is severe. Currently, the rice plants are about to bloom, there is no irrigation water, people will have a bad harvest, which will lead to economic and food difficulties - Mr. La Duc Thoai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Chieu Luu commune (Ky Son) said.
