A male tourist was given food by a group of monkeys during his 9 days lost in the Amazon rainforest. They also showed him where to sleep and led him to a water source.

A 25-year-old Chilean tourist, Maykool Coroseo Acuna, was visiting Madidi National Park, Bolivia, as part of a tour group run by Max Adventures. He wandered off and got lost in the deep forest, where no one could find him, National Geographic reported on March 24.

After 9 days missing, Maykool returned to everyone's surprise. His body was covered with scratches and insect bites. However, he was completely conscious and healthy.

The tourist told the press that he survived by following the monkeys. They gave him food they had picked, showed him where to sleep and where to get water. After 9 days of wandering in the forest, he found a river and was able to contact people.

Everyone in the group believed that he had been taken by a forest spirit. They invited spiritualists to pray, hoping to find him. Six days after his disappearance, all they could find was a sock in a mud puddle. People even used the muddy sock to communicate with his spirit.

Madidi National Park is located in the Amazon basin in Bolivia and covers an area of nearly 19,000 km2. This place attracts many tourists and scientists to explore because of its natural beauty and rich wildlife.
