(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, people in Thanh Chuong, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau districts... are actively harvesting spring peanuts. This year, peanuts have a good harvest, good prices, and a yield of nearly 3 quintals/sao.

These days, Ms. Nguyen Thi Khang in Yen Long hamlet, Thanh Yen commune, Thanh Chuong district is focusing on harvesting spring peanuts on an area of ​​3 sao. Ms. Khang said that this year the weather is favorable so the peanuts grow well, with a yield of nearly 3 quintals/sao of fresh peanuts (about 2.7 quintals/sao higher than the summer-autumn crop in 2017).

Mr. Phan Van Viet in Thanh Yen commune (Thanh Chuong) said: This year, fresh peanuts sold in the field are 15,000 VND/kg, 2,000 VND/kg higher than last year, so with a yield of nearly 3 quintals/sao, farmers have an income of over 4 million VND/sao. The advantage of selling fresh peanuts is that not only is the price good, but farmers also save a lot of work in selecting peanuts, drying and preserving. If brought home to dry, the selling price is about 23,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, in 2017, the price of dried peanuts was only 20,000 VND/kg.

In the spring crop of 2018, Thanh Chuong district planted more than 1,000 hectares of spring peanuts, concentrated in the communes of Thanh Ha, Thanh Tung, Thanh Khe, Thanh Yen...

In Nghi Loc's peanut fields, people are urgently harvesting. Nghi Loc spring peanuts have an area of ​​over 2,800 hectares, mainly concentrated in Nghi Truong, Nghi Thinh, Nghi Long, Nghi Thach communes... peanut yield is estimated at 2.5 quintals/sao.

In the spring crop of 2018, Dien Chau planted 2,620 hectares of peanuts. This year the weather was very favorable for peanut growth. Some communes with high peanut yields such as Dien Thinh, Dien Thanh, Dien Loc, Dien Hung, Dien Hoang yielded nearly 3 quintals of peanuts.

The province planted more than 15,000 hectares of peanuts in the 2018 spring crop. Currently, the districts are directing people to quickly harvest spring peanuts to ensure the summer-autumn crop is ready.

Besides being imported for export, peanuts are also sold retail at markets at higher prices or pressed into oil for daily use.
