Bank interest rates on March 18, 2025: Banks have interest rates of nearly 10% per year
Bank interest rates today March 18, 2025: ABBank has just attracted attention when announcing a record interest rate of 9.65%/year, becoming the bank with the highest interest rate currently for "super-rich" customers.
The bank has an interest rate of nearly 10% per year.
According to the latest information, while MSB has eliminated the special interest rate of 8%/year, ABBank has suddenly raised the interest rate to 9.65%/year for customers opening new or renewing deposits of VND 1,500 billion or more with a term of 13 months. This helps ABBank rise to the top of the market in terms of special savings interest rates.
Currently, major banks are applying different interest rates for large savings deposits:
ABBank: 9.65%/year for 13-month term, applied to amount from 1,500 billion VND.
PVComBank: 9%/year for 12-13 month term, minimum balance requirement of VND 2,000 billion.
HDBank: 8.1%/year for 13-month term and 7.7%/year for 12-month term, requiring a balance of VND 500 billion.
Vikki Bank: 7.5%/year for terms of 13 months or more, customers need to have at least 999 billion VND.

The trend of interest rate reduction at major banks
While ABBank sharply increased interest rates, many large banks such as Vietcombank, VietinBank, and BIDV slightly reduced their interest rates. According to records, these banks have lowered savings interest rates from 0.1% to 0.2% for long terms.
Despite a slight decrease, Vietcombank and BIDV still maintain rates above 6%/year for terms of 12 months or more, helping to maintain their attractiveness for customers with long-term deposit needs. Currently, Vietcombank's interest rates range from 3.5%/year for short terms (2 months) to 7.0%/year for terms of 12 months or more.
In March 2025, the trend of slightly decreasing deposit interest rates continued. Although some banks promoted special interest rate programs for large deposits, most banks still reduced interest rates for short and medium terms.
Major banks such as Vietcombank, BIDV, and VietinBank continued to make downward adjustments, demonstrating their cautious monetary policy to maintain macroeconomic stability and control inflation. In this context, savers need to carefully consider to optimize profits when choosing a suitable bank and deposit term.
