For the first time, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted enrolls students in a Korean language class.
This is one of the new points in this year's enrollment plan of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
The Provincial People's Committee has issued a Decision on admission to grade 10 and admission toPhan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted,school year 2025 - 2026.
Accordingly, this year the school will enroll 15 classes including specialized classes: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Japanese, Chinese, French, Russian and Korean. The specialized Math class will have 2 classes including specialized Math 1 and specialized Math 2.

This year's enrollment plan has been adjusted compared to previous years when there was only one English specialized class left. However, for the first time, Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted opened a Korean specialized class.
According to tradition, this year the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted will still include Math, Literature, Foreign Languages (English and French) and 1 specialized subject.
In which, Math, Literature and Foreign Language are taken from the results of the 10th grade entrance exam (candidates wishing to apply to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted must take the 10th grade entrance exam. If the candidate registers for admission to a high school, but that high school does not organize the exam, the candidate must register and take the exam at the nearest high school that organizes the exam).
According to regulations, candidates registering for the first choice in specialized classes: Math 1, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English must take the corresponding specialized subject exam.
Candidates registering for the first choice of admission to the specialized IT class must take the specialized subject exam of Math or IT.

Candidates applying for admission to specialized classes in Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese must take the English exam; candidates applying for admission to the French class must take the French or English exam.
In addition to registering for NV1, candidates taking the entrance exam to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted can register for NV2.
Specifically, candidates who register to take the specialized subject exam in Literature can register for admission to the History or Geography specialized class as their second choice.
Candidates who register to take the specialized subject exam in Chemistry can register for admission to the specialized Biology class or the specialized Math class 2.
Candidates who register to take the specialized exam in Physics and Biology can register for admission to the specialized Math 2 class;
Candidates who register (first choice) to take the specialized subject exam in Math to enter the specialized IT class can register (second choice) to enter the specialized Math 2 class.
Candidates who register for the Math 1 specialized class can register for the second choice of admission to the Math 2 specialized class or the IT specialized class.
Candidates who register for the specialized subject of English in the specialized English class can register for admission in the second choice (choose one of the following classes): specialized Russian class, specialized Japanese class, specialized Korean class, specialized French class, or specialized Chinese class.
Regarding the exam format, for specialized subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography in essay form. Meanwhile, for specialized Foreign Language subject, the exam includes essay, multiple choice and listening comprehension; for Information Technology subject, it is in the form of computer programming. The exam time for specialized subjects is 150 minutes.
According to regulations, scores of non-major exams are calculated with coefficient 1, scores of major exams are calculated with coefficient 3.
Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted is considered the most prestigious school in Nghe An. Previously, in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province had 2,100 candidates registering to take the exam. Of which, the specialized class with the largest number of candidates registering for the exam was Literature with 316 candidates. Next were the English specialized classes with 291 candidates, Math specialized classes with 259 candidates, Chemistry specialized classes with 229 candidates, Physics specialized classes with 200 candidates, Informatics specialized classes (Informatics exam) with 100 candidates and (Math exam) with 87 candidates.
