Touching stories

The exhibition consists of two parts. Part one has the theme "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style is a regular activity of the entire Party and people" to affirm that studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style was launched by the Party and State right after his death with the emulation movement of living, fighting, working and studying following the example of the great Uncle Ho.

In that emulation movement, thousands of collectives and individuals across the country have strived to compete in labor, production and combat, contributing to building a peaceful, unified, independent, democratic and prosperous Vietnam as Uncle Ho always wished.

Part two, with the theme “Ordinary but noble examples,” includes images, documents, and artifacts, introducing to the public stories about more than 130 outstanding organizations and individuals from all sectors and levels. They are truly outstanding examples of will, determination, compassion, courage, etc. for us to learn from and follow.

Many touching stories were shared at the exhibition. Photo: Minh Quan

A touching story at the exhibition is about war invalid Nguyen Tien Dan in Thanh Khe Dong ward (Da Nang city). With the spirit of "disabled but not useless", Mr. Nguyen Tien Dan always strives and works tirelessly for the charity work to help life and people that he always keeps in mind. With the journey "Lighting up dreams - Going to school with friends", since 2000, he has saved his own money, at the same time, mobilized more friends and teammates to help poor students through activities of donating books, supplies, warm clothes... Over the past 20 years, this meaningful journey has been extended every day by his footsteps imprinted throughout the Central region.

That is the story of teacher Duong Thi Tu Le, who is currently teaching with her husband in Sinh Tung Chu village, Thai Phin Tung commune, Dong Van district, Ha Giang province - home to 56 households, 100% of whom are H'Mong ethnic group. Witnessing many students going to school irregularly due to difficult family circumstances, Ms. Le decided to discuss with her husband to deduct her small monthly salary to buy food to cook lunch for the students, partly to help their families, partly to give teachers the opportunity to supplement their knowledge at school to improve the quality of their studies.

Thanks to Ms. Le's kindness, over the past 5 years, the school where she teaches has maintained a 100% attendance rate and the quality of education has also improved. There was a time when Ms. Le and her husband asked to transfer to a school closer to home to take care of their family, but parents and students petitioned the commune to let the teachers stay. Understanding the feelings of parents and students for them, the teachers decided to continue working at this familiar school.

As the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh, Nghe An province has 3 individuals participating in the exhibition "Simple but noble examples" this time. They are artisan Nguyen Trong Ha in Nam Thanh commune (Yen Thanh) - who has devoted all his heart and soul to sculpting statues of great men: King Hung, Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Hue, President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thu... right in his garden to preserve, propagate, and educate his children and grandchildren in the family and the younger generation.

In addition, Mr. Nguyen Trong Ha also built a Library and a Traditional Room at his home for his grandchildren to visit and borrow books. He collected and compiled a photo history of President Ho Chi Minh's life and work; collected and preserved 79 signatures of Uncle Ho; collected 360 photos of General Vo Nguyen Giap...

That is also Artisan Truong Thanh Hai in Nghia Xuan commune (Quy Hop) - who has collected, preserved and developed many folk melodies, musical instruments and traditional customs and practices of the Tho ethnic group in Quy Hop district, including the "Boc Mo Ceremony" recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a Provincial Festival.

In addition, we cannot fail to mention the professional female military Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Tran Thanh - a mass mobilization officer at Mon Son Border Post, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard, Border Guard Command, who has not only completed her assigned tasks excellently, but is also good at women's association work.

In the past time, comrade Thanh has advised the Party Committee to coordinate in organizing training for the Party Committees of 14 village and hamlet Party cells on Party building work, established and effectively maintained the "Women participating in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security" Clubs with hundreds of members; mobilized thousands of cadres and soldiers to help people raise livestock, grow crops, and harvest crops; propagated laws and prevented illegal entry and exit for thousands of women...

Spread good people, good deeds

In addition to the above individuals, the exhibition also introduces nearly 130 other typical stories in 2 years (2021, 2022), which are shining examples in patriotic emulation movements in the fields of: Economy, culture - society; Party building and government building, national defense and security. In which, each image and article is a touching story about ordinary people who have overcome circumstances and fate, constantly striving, wholeheartedly for the benefit of the community, for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The exhibition "Simple but noble examples" at Kim Lien Relic Site takes place from early May to September 2023, with more than 200 articles and documents displayed in front of the gate of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site. Taking her children to visit Uncle Ho's hometown and see the exhibition, Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Huyen in Nghia Binh commune (Nghia Dan) said: "I am very moved by the individuals and groups introduced here, from positive examples of voluntary blood donation to save people; examples of spending many years collecting unpaid garbage for the village; groups cooking charity meals for patients, to soldiers protecting the Fatherland's borders..., all have shown noble acts for the community, for the country".

According to Mr. Le Dang Thien in Hung Phuc ward (Vinh city), the exhibition "Simple but noble examples" with authentic and diverse stories, sparkling with humanity, has really attracted tourists like him, thereby giving them more faith and love in life.

The exhibition “Simple but noble examples” not only introduces and honors examples of “good people, good deeds” but also helps viewers gain a deeper understanding of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and style. Through that, each person, each family, each organization will contribute practical actions that have a profound impact on life so that the whole society is always a beautiful forest of good people and good deeds, respectfully offering to beloved President Ho Chi Minh on every occasion of his birthday.

Organizing the exhibition right at Kim Lien Relic Site - where many tourists come to offer incense and commemorate President Ho Chi Minh, where every Vietnamese person when coming here feels like returning to the sacred yet extremely close and simple origin, makes the exhibition even more meaningful.
