The traditional incense making village in Hamlet 5, Nghi Truong Commune was established in the 80s of the last century. Initially, the villagers mainly traded incense from Hanoi. Later, realizing that the incense making profession could help change their lives, they were determined to learn this profession and teach it to everyone in the village. |

On March 25, 2010, Tay Lan was recognized as a traditional incense craft village. |

Nowadays, incense here is produced by modern machines with the main ingredients being incense roots, star anise, bagasse, cinnamon... In the photo, a Tay Lan worker is grinding powder to produce quality herbal incense. |

Tay Lan incense village is bustling with production all year round, especially at the end of the year and during holidays. After being produced, the incense sticks are spread out on wooden trays to dry in the sun. |

These incense sticks are being packaged for export to Laos. “Every year, about 500,000 to 600,000 incense sticks are exported to Laos, the peak period is from October to the end of the Lunar New Year. The incense sticks are imported to Laos as they are made,” said Mr. Le Van Nam, head of Tay Lan craft village. |

Tay Lan incense export craft village has created jobs for dozens of workers with a fairly stable income, contributing to improving the economic life of people in the region. |
