Provincial leaders celebrate Christmas at Vinh Diocese Bishop's Palace

On the afternoon of December 20, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation led a delegation from Nghe An province to celebrate Christmas at the Vinh Diocese Bishop's Palace.

Accompanying him were comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Cao Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Le Hong Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Major General Nguyen Huu Cau - Director of the Provincial Police; along with leaders of many departments, branches and representatives of the Provincial Catholic Solidarity Committee, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Nghe An province. On this occasion, comrades: Vuong Dinh Hue - Politburo member, Deputy Prime Minister; Truong Thi Mai - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission sent Christmas flower baskets to the Vinh Diocese Bishop's House.

On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh sent Christmas greetings and a joyful, peaceful and happy New Year 2020 to Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long - Bishop of Vinh Diocese, along with dignitaries, officials and all Catholics in the diocese.

In recent times, especially in 2019, the Bishop's Office and religious dignitaries in Nghe An have encouraged parishioners to contribute greatly to the province's socio-economic development. Therefore, Nghe An province has had positive changes in the past year, recognized by the Central Government and well-regarded by the people.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary thanked Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, priests, and Catholics in the area for joining hands and working together for the development of Nghe An province.

Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also expressed his hope that the Party Committee, the government, the Vinh Diocese, and Catholics will continue to promote and cultivate a harmonious atmosphere among the ethnic and religious communities in Nghe An. The Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, and organizations of the province will continue to make the greatest efforts to care for the people's lives to become increasingly prosperous and happy.

Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long expressed his emotion when welcoming the provincial leaders to congratulate the Bishop's Palace and Catholics of Vinh Diocese on Christmas.

Recalling the Pope's teaching: a good Catholic is also a good citizen, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long shared that Catholics, in addition to taking care of their life of faith, must not forget their duty to build their society, country, Fatherland and people in general; join hands to build Nghe An province in particular to become more and more beautiful and prosperous; foster solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics and with the government to become increasingly better and closer; thereby bringing much joy and positive results in the cause of national construction.
