(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 7, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2022), the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province came to offer flowers and incense at Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery and Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemetery, Quang Tri province.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council as Head of the delegation. The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Duc Cuong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches, unions, and armed forces of the province.

Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery, located in Vinh Truong Commune, Gio Linh District, Quang Tri Province, is the resting place of 10,263 martyrs, including 1,297 martyrs from Nghe An who sacrificed their lives on the Ho Chi Minh Trail during the resistance war against the US to save the country. It is a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, of the spirit and will to fight for independence and the desire for peace of our people.

The National Road 9 Martyrs' Cemetery in Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province is the resting place of more than 10,800 martyrs, including main force soldiers, local troops, militia and guerrillas, and youth volunteers who fought and served on the Road 9 front and in Laos during the resistance war against the US, including about 200 martyrs from Nghe An.

The war of national defense of our nation has passed away. However, the names of the martyrs who sacrificed for the cause of national independence and unification will forever live on with their homeland and country.
Although the resting place of Nghe An martyrs is far from their homeland, the officials and people of Quang Tri province and the management board of martyr cemeteries, on behalf of the people of the whole country, always take care of the incense and visit, warming the hearts of their families, relatives and homeland.

At the cemeteries, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation offered incense and flowers at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House; offered flowers and incense at the Memorial; rang the bell to pray for the heroic martyrs and held a ceremony, offered flowers, incense, and burned incense at each grave of the martyrs from Nghe An and the martyrs in the cemetery grounds, expressing deep gratitude and appreciation to the outstanding sons of the homeland who, together with sons from all over the country, did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones, and heroically fought for the cause of national liberation and national reunification.

During the country's long resistance wars in the 20th century, along with the people of the whole country, Nghe An had tens of thousands of outstanding sons joining the army, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers on all battlefields. The whole province had more than 45,000 martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives, and more than 56,000 wounded and sick soldiers who left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefield. The heroic sacrifices of the heroic martyrs have added more color to the national flag, making the revolutionary tradition of the heroic Soviet homeland shine.

After more than 47 years of peace and unification, Nghe An province has achieved many important achievements in socio-economic development, national defense and security. People's lives have been constantly improved and raised.
The Party, the State and Nghe An province always pay attention and have many preferential policies and guidelines to care for people with meritorious services and their relatives.
