Bronze casting ceremony of Buddha statue at Co Am pagoda
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 2 (October 26th of the lunar calendar), Co Am Pagoda in Dien Minh commune, Dien Chau district held a bronze pouring ceremony to cast a Buddha statue.

Many monks, nuns and Buddhists from inside and outside the province attended, prayed and supported the pagoda in the preparations for the ceremony. Before the bronze pouring ceremony to cast the Buddha statue, monks, nuns and Buddhists listened to a sermon by Venerable, Lecturer Thich Dao Duyet - Abbot of Ninh Tao Pagoda, Ha Nam Province.

It is known that the nearly 80cm high Buddha statue made of bronze will be placed in the upper shrine halfway up the mountain after completion. The steps of preparing the statue for the bronze pouring ceremony are carried out by Hue artisans.
Co Am Pagoda was built during the Later Le Dynasty (mid-15th century) and has undergone many renovations and restorations. After the largest restoration in December 2013 and the completion of phase 1 in June 2017, the pagoda was planned into a closed complex with many unique architectural works, attracting tens of thousands of people to worship every year. Currently, the pagoda is presided over by Venerable Thich Tam Thanh./.
