Anh Son District Police said that the unit is temporarily detaining Nguyen Quang Phuong (born in 1974, residing in Tay Ho block, Quang Tien ward, Thai Hoa town) to clarify the act of property theft.
Phuong was accused of causing a series of cattle thefts in Anh Son district, Con Cuong district and many other localities.
Previously, in the early morning of January 18, in village 7, Dinh Son commune (Anh Son), Mr. Dang Anh Tuan's family was broken into by thieves, who broke into the cowshed and stole 5 cows, worth about 100 million VND.
Immediately after receiving the report, Anh Son District Police deployed forces and focused on professional measures to verify and clarify the case. Anh Son District Police decided to establish Project 118T to investigate and clarify the buffalo and cow theft cases that occurred in Anh Son District in recent times.
On January 25, Anh Son District Police in coordination with Nhu Xuan District Police (Thanh Hoa) successfully broke up a case and arrested Nguyen Quang Phuong. The police seized evidence of 5 cows belonging to Mr. Dang Anh Tuan's family.
At the investigation agency, Phuong confessed to directly committing 6 cattle thefts in the past.
Specifically, on the night of January 13, Phuong stole a cow and a buffalo from Mr. Dang Dinh Ly's family (village 1, Thach Son commune, Anh Son) with a total value of about 52 million VND.
Then, on January 18, Phuong stole 5 cows from Mr. Dang Anh Tuan's family (village 7, Dinh Son commune, Anh Son). In addition, Phuong confessed to stealing 1 cow in Nhu Xuan district (Thanh Hoa) and 3 thefts of 3 buffaloes and 4 cows in Con Cuong district.

According to the police, Phuong’s criminal activities were very reckless and brazen. Phuong rode his motorbike into villages and hamlets to look for houses and farms with buffalo and cows that were not properly looked after.
Then the subject broke the cow barn lock, led the cows away from the family's location, and called taxi trucks to transport them to Thai Hoa town for sale.
On the evening of January 25, Anh Son District Police coordinated with Nhu Xuan District Police (Thanh Hoa) to return property to the victims' families and continue to expand the investigation.
