Cell phones alone are dangerous enough to pose a health risk. Sharing phones is not recommended, especially during flu season. The virus can survive on its surface for up to 8 hours.

Viruses like the flu die within minutes outside the human body, but survive much longer on dry surfaces. MRSA, a common antibiotic-resistant bacteria, can survive on such surfaces for up to nine days.

Health experts have also warned that mobile phones can easily spread viruses because users constantly come into contact with the device's surface.

To prevent the spread of germs, cell phones should be kept in a pocket or bag where they are protected from contamination. For those who like to take selfies with their phones in the bathroom, health experts recommend washing your hands before and after using the toilet. You should also periodically wipe your phone with an antibacterial wipe.
