According to RIA Novosti on November 13, President-elect Donald Trump announced the appointment of investor Steve Witkoff as US special envoy to the Middle East.

Witkoff was also previously appointed to the upcoming inaugural committee. It is known that Mr. Witkoff is a close friend of President-elect Donald Trump.

“I am pleased to announce that I have appointed Steven S. Witkoff as Special Envoy to the Middle East. Steve is a respected leader in business and philanthropy who has made every project and community he has been involved with stronger and more prosperous. Steve will be a constant voice to the world and make us all proud,” President-elect Trump said in a statement.

From the attached biographical information, many opinions say that Mr. Witkoff does not have much experience in diplomacy, politics or the Middle East. His entire career is mainly devoted to real estate projects in the US.

In addition, Donald Trump announced that Florida Congressman Mike Walz will serve as national security adviser. The statement said: “I am proud to announce that Congressman Mike Walz has been appointed to serve in my Cabinet as National Security Advisor.”

The president-elect added that Walz would be "a strong advocate for pursuing peace through strength."

Earlier, Congressman Walz, in an interview with RIA Novosti, said that Mr. Trump has a general strategy of encouraging Russia and Ukraine to sit at the negotiating table to end the conflict. According to Mr. Walz, the Republican Party will show Kiev the need for a diplomatic solution. At the same time, Mr. Walz also said that the future president can provide Kiev with all the necessary means and weapons, if Moscow does not agree to sit at the negotiating table.

In the position of Director of the National Intelligence Agency (CIA), President-elect Trump announced the appointment of John Ratcliffe - he was the head of the CIA.

According to the Economist, Ukrainian officials are concerned that former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who sympathized with Ukraine and promised expanded support for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, will not join the new administration of Donald Trump.

According to the magazine, Ukrainian officials are now concerned that Mr. Trump’s “offer” to Ukraine will increasingly resemble ideas put forward by Vice President-elect JD Vance, which would essentially remove Ukraine from NATO membership. “This is a very negative development,” a Ukrainian security source told the magazine.
