Donald Trump criticizes US government for giving aid to other countries instead of recovering from Hurricane Helene
Donald Trump criticized the US government for allocating tens of billions of dollars to other countries, while not providing enough support for people affected by Hurricane Helene.

According to TASS news agency on October 6, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on October 5 (Washington time) criticized the US government for allocating tens of billions of dollars to other countries, but failing to provide adequate support to their citizens affected by the consequences of Hurricane Helene.
“They are giving $750 to people whose homes were washed away. At the same time, the United States government is giving tens of billions of dollars to countries that most Americans have never heard of,” Donald Trump told a crowd of supporters in Butler, Pennsylvania.
The event was broadcast by RSBN, which said tens of thousands of viewers attended Trump’s speech. Elon Musk, an American businessman and one of the world’s richest men, also attended the rally.
On October 1, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced that the recovery process from Hurricane Helen, which hit the United States, will take years and be extremely expensive. On October 5, CNN reported that the death toll from the storm's aftermath had reached 227.
According to experts at financial firm Moody's Analytics, the economic damage caused by Hurricane Helene will be around $34 billion for the southeastern United States. Other estimates are even higher.
Scientists say climate change, driven largely by fossil fuel emissions, increased the severity of Hurricane Helene. The new findings are consistent with previous scientific research that suggests storms are intensifying faster and producing more rain.
