Roadmap for forest allocation to households, individuals and communities in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 11, in Vinh City, the Management Board of the Project to Support the Readiness for REDD + Implementation in Vietnam Phase 2 in Nghe An Province organized a Workshop on "Consultation on the issue of strengthening forest law enforcement and ensuring legal timber; discussing the project of forest allocation associated with forest land allocation and granting of land use right certificates to households, individuals and communities in the period of 2018 - 2024".
Attending the workshop were representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Forest Protection Department and the Forest Protection Management Boards in the province.

At the workshop, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development introduced the purpose of building a new Forestry Law with 12 chapters and 108 articles (effective from January 1, 2019).
Delegates discussed the project of forest allocation associated with forest land allocation and granting of land use right certificates to households, individuals and communities in the period of 2018 - 2024. Currently, there are 157,537 hectares of forest and forest land that have not been allocated in the province. It is expected that from 2018 to 2021, the allocation of forests to households and individuals and communities will be basically completed.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Tien Lam - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasized: Relevant sectors need to actively and widely disseminate the new forestry law to forest owners, localities and people in order to better implement forest management and protection.
To effectively implement the Project on forest allocation associated with forest land allocation and granting of land use right certificates to households, individuals and communities, it is recommended that relevant departments, branches and district People's Committees closely coordinate to effectively carry out the task of forest allocation. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment directs the district environmental departments to implement forest land allocation according to the content of the project.

The Department of Finance advises on balancing capital sources to implement land and forest allocation work. District People's Committees need to direct communes to coordinate with sectors to implement land allocation and grant land use right certificates to households, individuals and communities on schedule./.

Increase forest cover, reduce greenhouse gas emissions
(Baonghean) - Along with many countries in the region and around the world, Vietnam is making efforts to implement solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the risks of climate change. The North Central Region Emission Reduction Program (ER-PD) is being coordinated with the forestry sector to widely disseminate information to all people.

Nghe An could earn more than 10 million USD from reducing greenhouse gas emissions
(Baonghean,vn) - If Vietnam's emission reduction program is approved by member countries in December 2017, the Carbon Fund entrusted by the World Bank (WB) is expected to purchase 10.3 million tons of carbon from Vietnam (expected price of 5 USD/ton), Vietnam will collect more than 51 million USD, Nghe An alone will collect more than 10 million USD.
