Wading in the pond to find fish, unexpectedly caught a "giant" oyster
(Baonghean.vn) - For the past two days, people in Thanh Linh commune, Thanh Chuong district have been curious about the fact that a local resident has just caught a "giant" clam weighing 1.5 kg.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Yen (40 years old) residing in Trung village, Thanh Linh commune, on May 26, while wading in the pond to catch fish, her husband caught a "giant" clam. When cleaning it, the clam shell was observed to be a cockroach brown color, quite shiny. The clam was quite large, weighing 1.5 kg.
Ms. Yen added that her fish pond is in the middle of the field, in front of her house, and was dug a long time ago, but this is the first time wading through the pond to catch fish and catching such a big mussel. The type of mussel that local people often catch in rivers and lakes around the area, weighs about 0.3 - 0.5 kg.

It is known that clam meat can be used to make cool and nutritious dishes that are popular in the summer such as stir-fries, soups, porridges, etc.
Local people said that to have such a large weight, the oyster must have lived for many years. Up to now, no one here has caught such a large oyster. Currently, this oyster is being raised by Ms. Yen in a water jar as an ornament. The "giant" oyster has been attracting many curious visitors to come and see.
