Flash floods swept away and collapsed 17 houses in Bac Ly commune.
(Baonghean) -At 3:00 p.m. on July 22, at Huoi Cang I and Huoi Cang II villages, Bac Ly commune, Ky Son district (Nghe An), a flash flood occurred with great destructive power, estimated damage up to billions of dong.
According to local people, the flash flood came suddenly, the water flowed fast and strong, within 30 minutes it completely swept away 3 houses, 14 other houses collapsed and were submerged in mud, including 2 schools and 1 commune health station, many livestock and poultry were swept away, the traffic route from the district center to the commune was interrupted by landslides, estimated damage was up to billions of dong. It is known that when the flash flood came, most of the people were working in the fields so they could not save their property, but fortunately there were no human casualties.
Ky Son has just experienced a historic flood, and now it has to continue to suffer heavy losses due to a new flash flood, adding to the difficulties. Currently, the Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention of Ky Son district is joining hands with forces such as the police and army to help people overcome the consequences of the flood. In the immediate future, the district will support 3 families whose houses were swept away with 17 million VND each; and support 3-5 million VND for collapsed and damaged houses to help people overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.
