Fraudulently selling cheap beer and soft drinks, appropriating 16 billion VND
Hue lied that her uncle was the director of a beer factory and could buy beer at a cheap price of 5,000 - 20,000 VND/barrel to defraud and appropriate more than 16 billion VND from many people.
On the evening of June 29, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police announced that the unit had prosecuted and temporarily detained Nguyen Thi Kim Hue (30 years old, residing in Hoa Cuong Bac ward, Hai Chau district, Da Nang city) to investigate the act of fraud and appropriation of property.
According to the initial investigation, from May 2022, Hue started trading beer and soft drinks in small quantities in Da Nang and got to know Ms. Dang Thuy Tuyet Hanh (residing in Hoa Minh, Lien Chieu).
Knowing that Ms. Hanh bought and sold beer and soft drinks in large quantities, Hue lied that her uncle was the director of a beer factory in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park (Da Nang), so he had a source of beer priced 5,000 - 20,000 VND/crate lower than the market price.
Trusting, from August 2022 to November 2022, Ms. Hanh repeatedly deposited money with Hue to buy cheap beer and Hue appropriated more than 11.2 billion VND.
In addition to Ms. Hanh, Hue also defrauded and appropriated from a number of other victims through contributing capital to buy and sell cheap beer and soft drinks for an amount of about 5 billion VND.
