After the article "New drivers ask for "general amnesty", do you agree?", there was a lot of feedback from readers sharing about the legalization of "new drivers" in various countries.
According to information from reader Tran Ngoc Dai, in European countries like France, anyone who has just passed the driver's license must stick a red letter A on a white background on the back of the car so that people can easily see it and stay away or sympathize with the new driver's license holder and leave it like that for a year.
Reader Kieu Lan added that in France, the law stipulates that, Vietnam should learn and make proper regulations instead of letting things happen spontaneously. As for the traffic police, they also have work to do. If a new driver wants to "show off", they should be punished to teach them a lesson!
Meanwhile, according to information shared by Mr. Tuan, in Germany, they also put up signs or pieces of paper with the letter A (Änfange) meaning "New driver" so that people behind them know to avoid and not have actions or words that put pressure back on the new driver. Mr. Tuan also suggested: Vietnam should put up the words "New driver" on the back of the car for new drivers.
Hoang Trinh said that in Melbourne, Australia, if you are learning to drive, you must put the letter L on the front and back of your windshield so that people will know to sympathize and stay away. When you first pass your driving license, you put the letter P (Probation) on for three years (red P for people under 25 years old, green P for people older), then you are exempt from putting these symbols (full license).
Each symbol has a blood alcohol content limit, a maximum of points you have and points will be deducted if you break the law. When the police check your car, your license and the letter symbol sticker on the outside of the car must match, otherwise you will also be fined.
Reader Hoang Trinh's opinion was also shared and agreed by readers Nhan and Van Anh.

Reader VQLúa shared that in Japan, in the first year after receiving a driver's license, drivers must attach a green leaf logo to the back of their car. People over 80 years old must attach a yellow leaf logo to the back of their car for a year to attract attention.
In the US, reader Vu Chi Dai shared: "I have driven abroad and in Vietnam, so I see that for a "newbie" in the US, for example, there will be nothing serious, but in Vietnam, there is a real problem. In the US, the roads and laws are clear and everyone can easily follow the laws, each person drives their own road. Therefore, it only takes a few months of practice to be able to drive smoothly. In Vietnam, learning to drive and getting a license, learning Traffic Laws are just basic knowledge. Driving on the road requires a lot of experience.
The roads are narrow and chaotic, so drivers mostly act based on experience and instinct. And obeying the law is not easy. I drove quite well in the US, but it took me a few months to feel relatively confident on Vietnamese roads. So, please be understanding of the "newbies". Driving schools only teach them basic skills and laws, few schools "teach" them the full experience and "reflexes" needed to drive on Vietnamese roads.
