Border Guard forces promote '4 on-the-spot' spirit to respond to floods
To quickly overcome the consequences of floods, the Border Guard stations of Nghe An Border Guard have promoted the spirit of "4 on-site" with local Party committees, authorities and people to respond.
In Ngoc Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district, heavy rain from the night of September 19 to the morning of September 20 caused water in streams and creeks in the area to rise quickly and high. Specifically, water overflowed at the spillway and low bridges including: the bridge in front of the gate of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station, the bridge in Tan Lam village, the bridge in Ma village (the turnoff to Thanh Son commune), the bridge at the three-way intersection of the welcome gate, Khe Su bridge, 2 spillway bridges outside Tan Tien village, and Nhan Mai bridge (Tan Ngoc).

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien - Deputy Political Commissar of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station said that due to the influence of storm No. 4, on September 19 and 20, there was heavy rain in Nghe An, causing many overflow bridges in Thanh Chuong district and 04 communes under the management of Ngoc Lam Border Guard Station to be flooded, with strong currents causing danger to passing vehicles. The unit has coordinated with localities to send forces to put up signs and checkpoints in dangerous and vulnerable areas to warn people when passing by.

In Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district, heavy rains caused by storm No. 4 and upstream water flowed to the Giang river, causing the water level to rise and flood many households. Some locations such as Khe Moi spillway bridge in Met village, Luc Da commune, Con Cuong district, the water level was about 1 meter from the bridge surface. In Thai Son 2 and Nam Son villages, many households were flooded.
To help people move their assets to safety, Mon Son Border Guard Station sent forces to the area to coordinate with local authorities and people to help flooded households move their assets to safety.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Luong Dung - Head of Mon Son Border Guard Station said that Mon Son Border Guard Station has mobilized forces to help affected households to evacuate their assets and household items to a safe place. Currently, it is still raining in the area, Mon Son Border Guard Station forces are continuing to monitor the area and support people to evacuate their assets.
In Tam Quang commune, heavy rains caused by storm No. 4 also caused landslides, blocking some roads, including the road to Tung Huong village, making it impossible for vehicles to pass. To ensure traffic, Tam Quang Border Guard Station mobilized officers and soldiers to be present at landslide sites, coordinated with local authorities and people to overcome the situation, and placed warning signs at the locations.

In Tam Hop commune, Tuong Duong district, heavy rain also caused some spillways to be deeply flooded. Tam Hop Border Guard Station has dispatched forces to coordinate with the locality to put up warning signs and sent forces to guard flooded areas to warn people. At the same time, they have closely monitored the area, surveyed locations at risk of landslides to warn people and prevent them to ensure people's safety.
At the Nam Can International Border Post, heavy rains caused by storm No. 4 also caused landslides on Highway 543D from Muong Xen town to Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district. The landslide caused traffic jams in Sa Vang village, Ta Ca commune and Xop Kham village bordering Muong Tip commune, Ky Son district. People and vehicles could not pass through. The Nam Can International Border Post has notified the Road Management Department of Ky Son district to take action.
Faced with the complicated developments of floods, the Border Guard Command of Nghe An province has also directed units to send forces to coordinate with local authorities to propagate to people not to be subjective, absolutely not to cross flooded bridges.
