Man City spends more than $650 million to transfer Guardiola
The Etihad Stadium team spent nearly $390 million to buy players in the 2017-2018 season, with the latest recruit being Laporte.
Man City just introduced new player Aymeric Laporte on January 30. This is the most expensive signing under Pep Guardiola, and the second in the club's history, only after Kevin De Bruyne (worth 84 million dollars).
The $80 million transfer brings Man City's total spending on players in the 2017-2018 season to nearly $390 million, the highest in the Premier League.

Since taking the Etihad hot seat in the summer of 2016, Guardiola has spent more than $650 million on new players. Many of them are expensive contracts, such as Benjamin Mendy, John Stones, Kyle Walker and Leroy Sane.
The line that the Spanish coach is most interested in is the defense. Including new player Laporte, the former Barca coach has recruited a total of five defenders, including Laporte, Mendy, Stones, Walker, Danilo. If we add two goalkeepers, Ederson and Claudio Bravo, Man City has bought seven people in the back line.
Despite spending a lot of money on players, Man City earns very little from selling them. Kelechi Iheanacho is the player who helps the blue half of Manchester earn the most money, with a transfer fee of 33 million dollars.
The remaining names like Enes Unal, Stevan Jovetic, Wilfried Bony and Edin Dzeko, none of them help Man City earn up to 20 million dollars per contract.
Man City's total revenue from player sales over the past year and a half has only stopped at $160 million, a quarter of what they spent on buying players.
