Single mother died in an accident, what is the future of the poor orphaned male student?
(Baonghean.vn) - I thought my poor life would go on peacefully, but unexpectedly my mother died in an accident, and I became an orphan. That is the pitiful situation of Nguyen Van Khanh in hamlet 9, Nam Anh commune, Nam Dan district.
We returned to hamlet 9, Nam Anh commune when the people here had just sent Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh - Khanh's mother to her final resting place. In the stories of the villagers, everyone expressed their grief for the gentle, hard-working mother, but who passed away too soon. The more they loved her, the more they loved her orphaned son.
Mrs. Minh (born in 1969) is the second child in a family of 5 children, of which 4 sisters are seriously ill: the eldest sister died of a serious illness several years ago, the second sister and the youngest sister both have mental illness, and Mrs. Minh herself has heart disease. When her younger brother got married, Mrs. Minh and her second sister moved out to live separately. The two sisters lived in poverty and single life in a small house in the same neighborhood.

To have someone to rely on in her old age, Mrs. Minh gave birth to a child in 2005, Nguyen Quoc Khanh. After giving birth, her heart condition seemed to get worse. Every month, she had to ask someone to take her to the hospital to get medicine.
Despite her poor health, Mrs. Minh still tried to work to raise her children and her sister. Because her sister, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Binh, suffered from a mental illness, her limbs were cramped, her personality was erratic, and she could not control her actions, so she had to take care of all the housework and gardening.
On the morning of October 26, while going to the field to pick squash to sell, Mrs. Minh had an accident on the inter-commune beltway. She was riding a bicycle and collapsed in the middle of the road. A soldier who was on a picnic discovered the incident and enthusiastically took her to the district hospital, then transferred her to the provincial hospital.
There, the doctors concluded that she had a fractured skull and a broken neck. Due to the severity of her illness, the hospital sent her home and she passed away that afternoon. The next morning, the people of Hamlet 9 and her family held a funeral, sending her to her final resting place in grief and sorrow.

Arriving at Mrs. Minh's house when everyone had just returned from the cemetery, the atmosphere of mourning was enveloping the small house. In the cramped house, with peeling walls and crumbling tiles, besides the most valuable possessions, an old TV and the bed of the mother, aunt, and niece, an altar had just been set up to worship Mrs. Minh.
Amidst the billowing incense smoke, the sight of the portrait of the poor, miserable mother and her son, wearing a white mourning scarf on his head and holding a bamboo stick, standing next to the altar in mourning for his mother, made the hearts of those present even more wrenched.
Mr. Bui Dinh Van (39 years old), a member of the self-management group No. 7, Hamlet 9, came to pay his condolences to Mrs. Minh's family and said: Mrs. Minh has been the leader of the self-management group for 2 years now. Although she is in poor health, she is very proactive and enthusiastic in collective work, in the road building movement, planting flowers and ornamental plants, mutual love as well as other local group activities.
“With Mrs. Minh’s passing, we have lost an active member, an exemplary self-management team member. Especially in this situation, we feel sorry for her and her young son,” said Mr. Van.
